How much support do I get? What rewards do you get as a foster carer? How often will training be? These are all questions we are often asked – Here is a list of the benefits:

Local tailored training - Our training is always at a local venue in East Sussex. We also tailor our training for each session regarding changes in legislation and current issues.

Generous allowance , per placement - Dependent on skill, experience and placement type. We also offer some extras;

Start of school for school uniforms, books etc,
Birthday and Christmas
“Welcome the child” allowance to be spent on an event to welcome the child to your family.

24/7 local Support - Local support is provided by members of 5Fostering who can offer advice and local support. They will guide you through any difficulties you are having and will be at the end of the phone 24/7.

Support meetings - As well as social events, carers have the opportunity to share their expertise with other carers at support meetings.

Respite breaks - We understand that breaks here and there are essential for every carer. Each carer will receive 14 nights paid respite per year.

Placement through careful matching - To create the greatest opportunity for the child or young person and carer to be successful we carefully match them together.

A Professional Framework for careers - We welcome all carers, new and experienced. We provide relevant training and remuneration for volunteer ‘Buddies’ through to more specialist Carers.
